Every Saturday and Sunday in October from 11 am to 3 pm - Orchard Nursery in Lafayette hosts a Harvest Festival, with live music, farm animals, pumpkins, kids activities and more.
Thursday, October 10th through Saturday, October 12th, multiple times - Fantasy Forum performs Pinocchio at Lesher Center in Walnut Creek (perfect theater experience for young kids!)
Friday, October 11th from 7 to 9 pm - Share the Magic! in Pleasant Hill is an evening filled with fun, mystery and excitement!
Friday, October 11th through Saturday, October 12th (check web link for hours) - Concord Oktoberfest at Todos Santos Plaza is a fun, family-friendly, free event for all ages. Check daily hours online.
Sunday, October 13th from 1 to 3 pm - SWIM with pumpkins at the Pumpkin Splash at Pleasant Hill Aquatic Park OR the Pumpkin Dunkin event at Rankin Aquatic Center in Martinez (jump into the floating pumpkin patch, a.k.a. pool, and pick your favorite pumpkin for Halloween)
Thursday, October 17th from 9 to 9:45 am - Toddlers and preschoolers will love the free Animal Tales program at Tony La Russa's Animal Rescue Foundation (held the 3rd Thursday morning of each month).
Friday, October 18th and Saturday October 19th, from 7 to 9 pm - Families with older kids will love the Grand Gatsby Mystery Dinner hosted by Poison Apple Productions in Martinez
Saturday, October 19th from 10 am to 3 pm - Rodgers Ranch Harvest Festival in Pleasant Hill is a free family event with pumpkin painting, games, story time (11 am), food and live music.
Saturday, October 19th from 11 am to 6 pm - More Oktoberfest fun in Walnut Creek at Civic Park, promising fun, food and activities for kids and adults alike.
Saturday, October 19th and Sunday, October 20th - Danville Fallfest offers fun and entertainment for the whole family. Make sure to check daily hours online before heading over and here's a hint: the children's costume parade is at 10:30 am on the Saturday!
Sunday, October 20th from 10 to 11 am - Make a Pumpkin Craft at Sloat Garden Center in Danville and Pleasant Hill (or at their Concord location the same time on October 26th)
