Pools and Splash Parks in Diablo Valley & Lamorinda
June 9, 2019
Water play and swimming are always a favorite summer activity of kids of all ages! We have some great options open to the public in our area - including Walnut Creek, Pleasant Hill, Concord, Clayton, Martinez, Lamorinda and Danville in the East Bay. Make sure to click each listing link for schedules and open hours.
Larkey Swim Center includes an awesome sprayground and mini slides as well as huge pool and grassy area. Note there is minimal shade and very limited seating. (Opens for the season June 8, 2019.)
NOT TOO FAR
Contra Loma Swim Lagoon in Antioch gives you the lake beach experience without the actual lake. This "lagoon" is actually a huge sandy bottomed pool with an extensive shallow area, side-by-side with the actual Contra Loma Lake. Shade is limited, so bring your own if possible.
Prewett Water Park in Antioch has multiple slides, pools and splash areas but is tamer than WaterWorld/Six Flags Hurricane Harber in Concord. It also has lots of grass and a snack bar!
San Ramon Aquatic Park and San Ramon Central Park - just on the other side of Danville the Aquatic Park offers a huge water playground, 2 pools, water slides, inflatables, inner tubes and a high dive. Do note it can get very crowded on weekends. Central Park is a lovely shady park with unique and super fun water features (bonus it's free).
The Wave in Dublin is a new city owned water park with a huge water playground, slides and pools.
Of course there are also endless private swim clubs - check out our Swim Team page which includes many of them. In addition, members at the Bay Club Walnut Creek (formerly Renaissance Club Sport) have access to their pools for recreation and fun. In Shape Gym in Concord has an outdoor pool as well, with recreational free swim hours in the afternoons.
